Sick Reunites

Reunion season looks to be in full-swing in the Mile High City. Hard on the heels of last week’s news that Yellow Second is reconvening for a show at the hi-dive, comes word that the original members of another beloved, bygone band from the not too distant past, Sick, are getting back together one more time for old time’s sake – well, and to commemorate the release of a greatest hits disc.

The outdoor show, which is slated to take place on Saturday, June 7, at Romero Ink (301 N. Main in Brighton), frontman Chris Romero’s tattoo and skate shop, is part of Brighton Culture Fest and will also feature performances by No Plot Kill and the Platte River Killers.

Before parting ways in the summer of 2002 and going on to form Drug Under, Sick was a band of many firsts. It was one of the first local, unsigned acts to perform at Red Rocks; to be added to regular rotation on the radio; to be inducted into the Hard Rock Café and to perform on Lollapalooza. While such exploits may seem common place now, back then these feats were simply unfathomable.
