Hello little girl. Do you like candy?

Here's a handy guide to all the great content you may have missed this week on Backbeat Online while you were transfixed by the efforts of one-time glam rocker and convicted child molester Gary Glitter to find a country that will take him in after being released from a Vietnamese prison...

In just a few days, the Democrats will have invaded and taken over our fair city. In the spirit of the event, we outlined our ten or so picks for Obama's acceptance speech intro song. We also cataloged all the DNC music-related events into a handy cheat sheet for you. And we also got excited over news (and then bummed) that Public Enemy willwon't be playing a show at Civic Center.

Don't worry, the DNC isn't the only show in town. We brought you the latest news in upcoming shows in our regular This Just In report. We also had more news about Metallica at the Pepsi Center, and the details of the Living Room series and a benefit for Mike Freeman.

In other show news, we reviewed a slewfew of them this week, including Hippie Werewolves, To Be Eaten, an Adventure Records showcase, and more.

The Flobots caught a rasher of shit from a Cleveland-based critic and responded by politely inviting him to the show to try to change his mind. Uh, Flobots, I think you're doing this whole "dis' war" thing wrong...

Circle Jerks lead singer Keith Morris almost died, and we talked to him about it.

There's a new locals-focused show coming soon on 101.5 FM, and we dished the details, including a bit about the mild controversy between Whip and KTCL's Nerf.

Finally, our regular columnists weighed in. Fascination Street took on sarcasm, Mile High Makeout explored ways to expose his jaded ears to new sounds, and the Friday Rap-Up delivered its usual dose of hip-hop insight.

That's it for us this week. Now we're off to drown our sorrows in cheap booze and sweet sounds. See you Monday. -- Cory Casciato
