Due to a crippling, worldwide shortage of seventeen-minute solos, Phish has decided to reform

Here's a friendly, easy-to-use index to all the great content you might have missed this week on Backbeat Online while you were busy doing that weird stoner hippie dance in celebration of the recent news that Phish is reuniting for concerts in March...

We are sorry to report that local scene luminary Sharon Rawles has died. Please share your memories, condolences and thoughts and prayers for her friends and family in that post's comments section.

We reviewed shows from Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Sigur Rós, James, the Summit Jazz Weekend, the New Year and more. And speaking of shows, you might remember an obscure '80s band called U2 that once played at Red Rocks. No? Well, this video of various folks sharing their memories of the iconic event might jog your memory.

Red Rocks may be the area's most famous outdoor venue, but the newest is looking pretty slick. Check out some info and photos of the soon-to-open City Hall.

If you like getting all intellectual about shows, you should think about attending this upcoming panel discussion of the evolution of the rock concert at the Tivoli. Too smarty-pants for you? Well, this list of upcoming shows includes Oasis, which is about as dumb as they come.

If none of those shows excite you, it could be worse; consider the recent travails of the Mile High Makeout in India, where he couldn't find any live music.

Some people turn to the Bible for answers. Us, we turn to musicians. Check out these Q&A sessions with David Berman of the Silver Jews and Nathan Willett of Cold War Kids.

Speaking of Bibles and musicians, have a gander at this video of Flobots talking about faith and politics.

Locals, rejoice! Alice 105.9 wants to put your music on the radio!

The Friday Rap-Up reported on Scribble Jam and headlines from around the national hip-hop scene.

Finally, in yet another big step in their road to global dominance 3OH!3 appeared (in facepaint and loincloths, strangely) in Entertainment Weekly. Wacky!
