Fort Collins ska masterminds, 12 Cents for Marvin, will be calling it a day with a pair of shows commemorating a dozen years together (although the band reports that it formed nearly a decade ago during college -- evidently, someone within the organization's doing new math or something) and nearly a half-dozen releases. During its time together, the outfit -- named after a panhandler whose mathematical formula required him to solicit twelve cents from every person he met -- earned a substantial amount of acclaim, including consistent appearances on the Westword Music Showcase ballot. Fans can bid the band adieu on Friday, November 21 at Moe's with the Haggardies, the A-OKs and the Potato Pirates. And the following night, Saturday, November 22, the act will appear at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins one last time with the Photo Atlas, Judge Roughneck and Magic Cyclops. -- Dave Herrera
