Rearview: The Week in Review (11/17/08-11/21/08)

Categories: Music History
Leave the Gun. Take the cannoli.

All eyes -- or ears, rather -- in the music world, including ours, were on Chinese Democracy this week. Most of us honestly never thought we'd live to see the release of the mythical Guns N' Roses record, and now that we had a chance to listen to it all the way through, we're sticking by our original assessment, based on hearing just a few songs: meh. Although parts of it are infinitely more listenable than expected, as a whole, it doesn't really seem to have been worth the excruciating amount of time it took to be released. Anyhow, we weighed in on that album this week, as well as Kanye's new one, which hits stores next week, and delivered a ton of other content, the headlines of which we've conveniently hot linked for you after the jump. Have a great weekend. We'll see you again on Monday. -- Dave Herrera
