Rick Astley will never give this award up

Here's a handy guide to all the great content you might have missed this week while you were busy voting on Rick Astley as best act ever in the MTV Europe Music Awards. Thanks to your tireless efforts, the EMAs were successfully Rickrolled...

How about a review of our reviews to kick things off? We listened to and opined on shows from Pete Tong, TV on the Radio, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, plus a Rock the Vote show that paired Tenacious D with the Beastie Boys.

While we're on the Rock the Vote topic, we also had some reporting from the pre-concert press conference. The first piece recaps what Tenacious D and the Beastie Boys said, while the second is a more personal recounting of the antics of Kyle Gass.

We shared thoughts on whether Metallica was all washed up, and then shared photos of Metallica at the Pepsi Center. We live to share.

We got all reminiscent, and recalled that back in the day, Westword endorsed George Clinton for President. Then we imagined what the 2008 election would look like if it were a '70s rock opera.

We dug up interviews with Andy Butler and Patrick Park, former Denverites who found success after leaving us. We miss you guys!

As if to prove you don't need to abandon our fair realm to find success, we brought you the news that Devotchka got paid for licensing "How it Ends."

Who's coming to town? Well, Umphrey's McGee, and lots more are on our regular weekly list, plus we have news of 3Oh!3 bonus shows!

We never stop looking for answers here. Sometimes, like this week, we end up with a lot of them. We asked questions and got answers from k.d. lang, Marnie Stern, the Overcasters, Lizzi Bougatsos of Gang Gang Dance and Stephen Malkmus. Talking to Malkmus had us getting all nostalgic for this vintage Pavement article.

Wondering what are the Fray up to these days? Well, you can find out when the new Fray album hits February 3.

Uncle Nasty's band Horse has a new video, and we've got it embedded for your convenience.

Top off your iPod with a free track from Rabbit is a Sphere.

Stop! Column Time! The Friday Rap-Up checks in with local hip-hop group ManeLine, plus brings you the biggest news from around the world of hip-hop. Meanwhile, the Mile High Makeout recounts a frightful Halloween tale of a vicious "Maneater."
