Young Coyotes to release pair of EPs next month
In what literally seemed like milliseconds after forming, the band went from playing Saturday matinee sets at places like Lifespot last summer to garnering envious slots on choice gigs like Monolith's VIP party and Hot IQs annual holiday party, which led to them being on the lips of discriminating music fans all over the city.
Naturally, that sort of attention invites scrutiny, and already Young Coyotes' success has spurred a bit of a backlash, causing more cynical members of the scene to wonder, somewhat incrediously, what all the fuss is about. Not bad for a band that didn't even exist this time last year and still doesn't have a release out -- something the band plans to remedy next month.
On Tuesday, March 10, Young Coyotes will be releasing a pair of EPs, the fittingly titled Basement EP, which contains songs the outfit recorded in its, er, basement, and the Exhale EP, containing all new tracks the group recorded at Boulder's Coupe Studios. Both of the five-song releases will be available for download (the former for free on the act's site) beginning on the 10th. If you haven't already, you can catch Young Coyotes, who are currently on tour (dates listed below) in a few weeks at Larimer Lounge on Friday, February 27 for Indie 101.5's one year anniversary party.
