Freaky Friday: "The Force" Swinging robodisco of the '70s

Today's entry takes us way back to the swinging '70s, when disco was king and Star Wars was the cultural phenomenon. Some enterprising French types decided to combine the two into one synthesizer-driven, hip-shaking, spaced-out classic in a band called the Droids, a song called "The Force" and, supposedly, an album called Star Peace. I am so not joking. The whole thing is unbelievably retro-futuristic and kitschy and so obviously a point of inspiration for Daft Punk that they should be paying these dudes royalties. Oh yeah, and it's not a bad track either. It could be remixed up into a killer floor filler tomorrow if someone were so inclined. Check the awesome, robot-filled video after the jump, and good luck tracking down a copy of the album. Let me know if you manage it somehow.
