So the music business is allegedly in dire straits right now, having endured the sharpest decline in CD sales ever this past year. Yet if you're paying attention you can't help but notice that act after act from Denver is being snatched up by various labels at stupefying rate, that, even during the boom times, might have seemed anomalous. The latest Mile High minstrel to garner a deal is Kill Paradise, the electro pop duo comprised of Nick Cocozzella and Bryce Hoops.

The outfit, which sprang forth from the same underage scene that revolves locally around the Marquis Theater and Lifespot and spawned such likeminded infinitely touring ensembles as Breathe Carolina, has signed with Suburban Noize Records. That's the name on the contract at least (click adjacent photo to enlarge). We've heard, however, that Paradise is actually linked to a subsidary of Suburban Noize, called Breaksilence Recordings, which makes a ton more sense considering that the imprint is home such kindred outfits such as Albuquerque's BrokeNCYDE and Tempe's Eyes Set to Kill.
