Update: Fresh Breath Committee's Purpose getting his Idol on

Update: Purpose (aka Mykal Hudson) ended up winning the Denver Idol competition, earning 48 percent of the vote to best the other two finalists. As a result, unlike thousands of would-be hopefuls sleeping under the stars for their chance to showcase their talents, Purpose earned a guaranteed audition at Invesco Field this Tuesday at 7 a.m. in front American Idol judges representing the popular Fox televison show. (Original Post 07/07): While Fresh Breath Committee holds its breath for the results of the Westword Music Showcase, one member of the collective is participating in another contest. Purpose, aka Mykal Hudson, is a finalist in FOX 31's Denver Idol competition. Yes, he sings as well as raps. Who knew? He performed for local judges who placed him among the top three finalists to win an audition with the American Idol judges when they come to town this summer. There is one caveat, though. The winner is decided by fan votes.The voting ends today so check out his performance of John Legend's "Alright" after the jump and vote for him at Fox31.com.
