Received word yesterday that the liquor license for City Hall, Regas Christou's latest venture in the SoCo nightclub district, was approved. Rob Mullins is slated to help break in the new venue at 1144 Broadway on Friday, July 31. Also just heard that Speakeasy Tiger is playing a free show on Friday afternoon at Hot Topic in Northfield. Torch the Wagon, meanwhile, was supposed to play the Lion's Lair on Friday, but their drummer has apparently quit. (D'oh! What is it with drummers, anyway?!)

We just got a peek of Patrick Porter's new video, "Wait for Another." The clip, posted after the jump, was filmed in Portland by Adam Becker, and according to Porter, "is the finest example of music video progress since axl rose swam with computer-animated dolphins it is somewhat like bono and madonna throwing paper plates at each other at a bar mitzvah barbecue." Ah, the wonderous Mr. Porter. Our loss is clearly Portland's gain. (Note to Portland: Stop stealing our musicians. Please!)

Finally, don't miss the one and only Magic Cyclops, who will be stopping by KRFC's Rock and Roll Clubhouse this afternoon between 1 and 3 p.m. Also, don't miss his one-man Foreigner tribute at the Surfside this Monday, July 20, featuring members of Magic Cylclops. Which members of Cyclops remains to be seen.
