Props to 3OH!3. Adding to its global ubiquity, the Boulder-based act was nominated as Best New Artist at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. From the looks of it, the hooligans from the People's Republic have a viable shot of taking home honors, as the competition doesn't seem to be too stiff this year -- the duo's up against Asher Roth, Drake, Kid Cudi and Lady Gaga. Although, if anyone's going to take out the pair, smart money's on the lady of the bunch. Awards will be broadcast on MTV on Sunday, September 13. As much as I'd want them to win such prestigious honors, the best new artist does have its fair share of 'Madden-esque' jinxes that goes along with winning. I'd hate to see this be the high point of their career. What Nat and Sean need to bring back to CO is an Oscar. Somehow...
