Four is the magic number for Slayer and U2

Dear, metal heads, prepare to be stoked: Slayer has unveiled the artwork for its forthcoming album, World Painted Blood, which is slated for release on Tuesday, November 3. While the music is sure to be dependably bludgeoning, the enticing aspect of this album is the fact that it will be issued with four different covers. Each collector's edition cover will reportedly feature a blood-red, see through map of human skulls and bones that will, when pieced together (see above), makes a composite map of the world. As if shelling out for four discs wasn't enough to set you back, the deluxe edition comes with Playing with Dolls, a DVD containing a twenty-minute animated graphic novel set to music from the album with an expanded booklet.

Not to be outdone by its thrash metal counterparts, the U2 blokes have announced plans of their own to release four different versions of the remastered re-release of The Unforgettable Fire, the act's landmark 1984 album, which is being released on Tuesday, October 27, in honor of the album's 25th anniversary. This set reportedly contains an unreleased song from that era that was the band recently finished and recorded called "Disappearing Act."
