Pixies bringing Doolittle tour to Denver in November

Update: Just received word that the Pixies added a second show on Tuesday, November 17 at the Fillmore. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, September 26 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased directly at the Fillmore box office, online at LiveNation.com or by phone at 1-877-598-6659. 

[original post: 07/28/09] It's true. Mark your calendars: We just received word that the Pixies, one of the world's greatest bands, will return to Denver to perform Doolittle, its classic 1989 platter, in its entirety on Monday, November 16 at the Fillmore. Although Black Francis (aka Frank Black, aka Charles Thompson) is due in town tomorrow night at the Walnut Room -- a rarity in itself; Black Francis played Red Rocks this time last year -- if memory serves, the Pixies haven't been here for a minute. Aside from a recent Netflix screening of loudQUIETloud, we haven't seen or even really thought of the band really in at least six years, when the act played at Magness in October 2004. Should be amazing. And lucky us! We're one of only nine cities where the tour will be stopping. Tickets for the show go on sale on Saturday, September 12. See full dates after the jump.
