It's been a minute since Scott Weiland and his Stone Temple Pilots band mates have embarked on a headlining tour, and it's been even longer since they recorded any new music. In fact, the outfit has spent the better part of the current decade on the sidelines as Weiland focused on Velvet Revolver and his various solo endeavors. By all accounts, such inactivity would prove terminal for most bands in terms of momentum. Yet as a testament to the profound impact the act had during the '90s, if not the staying power of the music, STP's still able to play rooms the size of the Fillmore. The same cannot be said of a good majority of STP's contemporaries. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see if the band is still firing on all cylinders after all these years or if it has lost a step.
