The Fray earns a pair of Grammy nods

Categories: Hearsay

What are you doing on Sunday, January 31? Haven't thought about it yet? Bet those Fray kids have. In fact, we're going to guess that they know exactly what they're doing that night. We don't have access to the band's itenerary or anything like that, but something tells us that Isaac Slade and company probably plan on being in Los Angeles that evening. Call it a hunch -- or just us being masters of the obvious. In case you haven't heard yet, the local boys done good have been nominated for another Grammy -- well, we shouldn't say another; they didn't take home a statue the first time they were nominated a few years back. And, actually, now that you mention it, another is also kind of misleading for, well, another reason. Namely, the act is up for a pair of Grammys, one for Best Pop Vocal Album, for its self-titled sophomore record, and one for Best Pop Performance By A Duo or Group With Vocals (that just sounds made up, doesn't it?) for "Never Say Never." What do we think their chances are? Well, in the former category, smart money's on the Black Eyed Peas, and in the latter category, the Peas also seem like a sure thing. Who knows, though, maybe this is the Fray's year. Never say never.
