Yeah buddy, that Ginger Perry's definitely one of them there fast-talking city gals. No two ways about it, mister.
Ginger Perry says she started her new night, This Good Old Country, which debuted last week at Interstate Kitchen & Bar (901 West 10th Avenue), to remember where she came from.

Her Kansas-based grandparents on her mom's side still do everything that's country, from auctions to horse racing to cattle ranching. She says her cousins would call her "city girl" when she'd visit her family's ranch, which has more than 5,000 wild horses.

With the new night, which happens on Wednesdays, Perry's bringing those roots back to the city. She'll be spinning some of her grandmother's 45s that were passed on to her, as well as dipping into '60s country, southern soul, renegade and hillbilly stuff. "The older the better," she says.

Not country enough for you? How 'bout this? Interstate also has an all-you-can-eat fish fry for $12.

Perry, who's going by Ginger Lynn on Wednesdays, will be occasionally joined by Klaw (aka TruckNutz) and Matthew Michael Fetcher. The shindig starts at 8 p.m. and runs until midnight. Oh, and there's no cover.
