Shel signs with Republic Nashville. Literally.
Ever wish you could be a fly on the wall when an act signed its record deal? Wonder what the scene is like? Some instances, we imagine, have been more memorable than others. The members of the Fray, for instance, signed their deal with Epic onstage at the Fox Theatre back in December 2004, in front of their family, friends and fans.
No such fanfare for the lovely ladies of Shel, who opted to sign their respective contracts at their kitchen table, thus making it official: As first reported this past February, Shel is the latest addition to the Republic Nashville roster.
In an interview with the Washington Post this past weekend, label head Scott Borchetta says the plan is to try and break the gals through touring and TV first before launching a radio campaign.
