DeVotchKa, who peformed for over 90,000 people when the band opened for Muse in Paris last weekend (see a few pics after the jump), has recently been at Wavelab studio in Tuscon working on the follow-up to its last album, A Mad and Faithful Telling. No word yet on what the new record will be titled or when it is slated for release. We'll keep you posted.

Frontman Nick Urata, meanwhile, has also been busy composing music for films, including I Love You Phillip Morris , a prison romance starring Ewan McGregor and Jim Carrey reportedly slated for an October release. DeVotchKa and Calexico were recently tapped to open for Wilco on Friday, September 3 as part of the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Festival.

You can also catch the band at Mishawaka Amphitheatre in Ft. Collins Saturday, August 28. The video above, taken from a performance on its recent nationwide tour with Gogol Bordello, aired earlier this week on Philadelphia's WHYY's Arts and Culture program On Canvas.
