Mile High Music Festival: Come for the music, stay for the attractions/ammenities
All right, so if for some reason, you're crabby about the line-up for this year's Mile High Music Festival -- which, you know what, say what you will about DMB and Jack Johnson; love 'em or loathe 'em, you can't deny there's some serious gems on the undercard (um, hello, Weezer? Phoenix? My Morning Jacket? Z-Trip? Drive-By Truckers?) -- and you're not enticed by the idea that you can come and go as you please and bring your own food and water, or the fact that there's a brand new dance stage (one that's being curated by Beta, BTW), this ought be enough to seal the deal. ![]()
We just heard that this year's Mile High Music Festival, slated to take place at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15, is going to feature a fifty-foot Ferris wheel, AND there's going to be tethered hot air balloon rides!
Maybe it's just because we're exactly the sort of simpletons who are easily awed by shinny objects -- but, c'mon, man! How freaking cool does that sound, hot air balloon rides? Next best thing to a helicopter ride. Oh, and there's also going to be a Twist & Shout tent where you can get your stuff autographed by band dudes, and a Whole Foods General Store, where you can buy organic food and produce. Check out the festival site map below.
