Nothing like this sort of news to completely take your legs out from under you, a staggering dose of reality to remind us all how precious and painfully short life truly is.

It's with the utmost sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we bring you news of the passing of D. Scott Morris, a gentle soul if ever there was one. The Flash Mob and former Ultrachronic guitarist lost his battle with cancer over the weekend.

By all accounts, D. was an incredibly kind friend, devoted husband and widely admired musician. From the considerable and heartfelt outpouring of love on his Facebook page and the Denver Music Board, which he co-owned with Brice Hancock, it's clear that the loss of D. Scott is profound for everyone whose life he touched, and he will be dearly missed.

No word yet on services, but we'll keep you updated as soon as details become available. In the meantime, please feel free to share your thoughts, memories and well wishes below. To that end, sincere, heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to D's friends and family.
