Tonight: Air Waves at the Hi-Dive

​Airwaves, the official name of Nicole Schneit and her rotating cast of musicians, began in Brooklyn in 2007 as a full-band extension of Schneit's singer-songwriter beginnings. The minimalist folk-punker's sound didn't change much with the additional instrumentation, as Air Waves still captures her beautifully androgynous voice and searingly personal lyrics.

Schneit's been kicking around the DIY circuit for over five years and recently moved from Brooklyn to Austin, Texas, band in tow. Jamming with the likes of Dan Deacon and Dustin Wong, Schneit and her Air Waves counterparts released their second LP, Dungeons and Dots, through Washington D.C.-based label, Underwater Peoples records. This show is eighteen and up and tickets are $7. Doors open at 8 p.m., show begins at 9 p.m.
