Tonight: Peter Wolf Crier at the Hi-Dive

It's like Mother Nature wanted to set the perfect scene for Peter Wolf Crier's first date of it's 2011 tour. The snow dump Colorado has been waiting for finally came last night, effectively creating a wintery backdrop for the Midwest duo's cuddle-by-the-fire-inducing songs of nostalgia and love.

With an understated complexity, Peter Wolf Crier taps into a similar tender place that Bon Iver brought to the surface a few years ago, while channeling the influence of Nick Drake with guitarist, singer and principal songwriter Peter Pisano's sharp coos.

Though the band has just a single release, last spring's Inter-Be, under its belt, there is plenty of material floating around the Internet to enjoy pre-show--including sessions done for Daytrotter, BBC 6, NPR's Tiny Desk series. Better yet, just come out in the cold tonight and enjoy Peter Wolf Crier, along with Retribution Gospel Choir and Death Rides West. This show is eighteen and up, and tickets are $10-$13. Doors open at 8 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m.
