Chris Brown is an ass who doesn't deserve another chance
It's been a big week in the inexcusable career resurgence of Chris Brown. Rihanna allowed her restraining order against him to be eased. Apparently someone sitting on some unreleased photos of the damage Brown inflicted on his former girlfriend thought this would be a good opportunity to share them; they surfaced yesterday on mediatakeout.com. Brown then took to Twitter to whine about it. Aww, poor Chris Brown, is someone reminding you of that time you committed felony domestic assault?
Chris Brown has an album coming out in a couple weeks. Plenty of people have apparently forgiven Brown, including his label and everyone who worked with him on this album: Diplo, Tyga, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Justin Bieber, Ludacris, Benny Benassi and lots of others.
This is a subject that has already seen plenty of coverage. So we don't mean to rehash what you already know. What we don't understand is how this is even a subject worth debating. Chris Brown is a pop singer who has a public platform and there is no way we should even be talking about handing that back to him after he beat his girlfriend. Particularly when his punishment entailed probation, an interview with Larry King, and tearing up during a performance of "Man in the Mirror."
When the new pictures surfaced yesterday, Chris Brown took to Twitter to defend himself. He said, "It's ironic how 'somebody' put this out right around my album time! Wow! I guess that's supposed to be strategic chess move. Unbelievable."
And that, more than anything else, should be conclusive proof to the contrary to anyone who says he's paid his dues, that he's a changed man, that he's genuinely filled with gut-wrenching remorse.
This has nothing to do with your album, you violent idiot. And if that's your first reaction to seeing pictures of the damage you inflicted -- self-defense -- you haven't learned a damn thing.
The tweet has since been taken down, but there's really no going back once you put something on the internet. The new photos are below. If you ask us, he should be given a court order to make them the cover of his new album. Maybe then people would take a second to think a little harder about what, exactly, they are supporting.
