For the better part of the last two decades, Wally Callerio has been one of the key players in the West Coast house scene. The Los Angeles-based DJ/producer/Dufflebag Recordings label boss/house music purist performs in Denver on Friday night with Treehouse Collective DJs Brick Lee and Travis Press at 2711 Larimer Street (entrance in the alley, $10-$15, 21+)

Minimal techno fans rejoice: February is going to be a huge month for the subgenre in Denver, starting with the Troy Pierce and Heartthrob show Saturday night at Theory + Practice. Pierce and Heartthrob (aka Jesse Siminski) grew up in the Midwest, where they caught vintage sets by legendary DJs like Derrick Carter, Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin; the pair now represent Hawtin's vaunted minimal techno label, Minus. ($15-$20, 21+)

On a housier tip, Denver House Authority celebrates its third anniversary Saturday night at Gallery 22 with Amenti Music's Oliver Desmet. Orginally from Belgium, Desmet currently resides in San Francisco, and is a twenty-year veteran of the house music scene worldwide. Denver's own house music legend Hipp-E also performs, as do DHA residents Joey M, Brandon Bass and Louis Tardona. ($5-$10, 21+)

Mother Earth Sound System CrowdPleaser DJs Scott Everett and Tess join In2Deep residents Jacqueline and Swank Saturday night for Elevate at Funky Buddha Lounge. Funky Buddha's heated, enclosed rooftop patio keeps the dancefloor warm and cozy, and the music should be nice and techie. (No cover, 21+)
