Tonight: Weedeater at 3 Kings Tavern
As if it's not obvious by the name, Weedeater is a weed band -- but not a weed band in the Cypress Hill, Slightly Stoopid or Sublime sense. Weedeater still promotes weed smoking, yes, but it's about a lifestyle -- a heavy, heashy one that lends to fans participating in slow motion head-banging and mid-air finger twiddling up and down an imaginary fretboard. 
Formed in the late '90s, the three-piece still pounds the sludge out with it's original lineup, including leader and bassist "Dixie" Dave Collins, a dude so bad-ass he shot his own big toe off while cleaning his shotgun last year.
Completely recovered and on tour for the millionth time, Weedeater comes through in support of their just-released album Jason...The Dragon, playing tonight at 3 Kings with Zoroaster, Lyin' Bitch and the Restraining Orders and Cateter. This show is 21-and-up, and tickets are $12 to $14. Doors open at 9 p.m., show begins at 10 p.m.
