Stompy.com co-owner Deron Delgado headlines Audio Indika's 4/20 bash

Deron Delgado hits up Denver for 4/20.
"I love throwing parties and I love house music and music in general," notes promoter, DJ and man-about-town Uriah West, whose record label, Audio Indika, is hosting its second annual underground 4/20 party tomorrow night starting at 11:30 p.m. "Since we did one last year, and it was 4/20, and the name is Audio Indika, it kind of felt fitting," West says.

And for the headliner, he's pulled someone special out of his hat: Stompy.com co-owner Deron Delgado, heading this way from San Francisco for his second-ever set in Denver.

"Deron was one of the first people to put out some Joey Youngman tracks -- who is now Wolfgang Gartner -- and kind of graduated, for lack of a better word, from house music to electro," West explains. Delgado is also co-owner of Stompy.com, alongside Preston Lytton. West describes Stompy as "dedicated pretty much to underground house music. He's kind of broadened it a bit now -- some techier stuff and downtempo and minimal -- they're a big player when it comes to the underground, house music especially. Stompy is where I religiously play all my music from and have for years, since I switched over to the digital realm."

For those who are unfamiliar, Stompy has been around since 2004 as a boutique digital download site; Lytton has also thrown parties under the Stompy moniker since 1992. (West has been selling his own tracks through Stompy since '06, which is how the two first became connected.) And Stompy remains relevant simply by virtue of its catalog: house-heavy (although Delgado has expanded his horizons since '04), all-underground, dance-worthy tracks. "We're not trying to be everything for everybody," the Stompy website reads. "We believe you shouldn't have to sort through gigs of music you don't want just to find something that moves you. Our goal is to make it easier for people who love underground music to become aficionados and to help DJs expand the digital tools in their repertoire."

West -- along with local favorites Rescue and Louis Marr -- will spin alongside Delgado; Audio Indika takes place at Bat Country, 2711 Larimer Street, and runs till 6 a.m. Visit Audio Indika's Facebook page for more information.
