Tonight: The Strange Boys at the Hi-Dive

strangeboys_500.jpg
A rambunctious throwback to that time when the Kinks were first birthing some of the truest rock and roll in existence, the Strange Boys have been creating their own jangled jams for almost a decade. Guitarist and vocalist Ryan Sambol sounds slightly brattier than Ray Davies ever did (in a good way), as the poet and bandleader carries the quartet through rowdy three-minutes tracks.

With only two full-length albums and a handful of EPs under its belt, the band released Be Brave in 2010, slowly adding to the Texas group's rather small but intriguing repertoire of awesome rock songs. The Strange Boys come through Denver tonight with O'Death and Natural Child. This show is eighteen and up. Tickets are $12, doors open at 8 p.m., and the show begins at 9.
