Barry Fey lured out of retirement to join Denver County Fair team as musical director

Legendary local concert promoter Barry Fey, who retired in 1997, is back in the game. We just received word from the Denver County Fair owners, Dana Cain and Tracy Weil, that Fey has been tapped as musical director.

The Rockfather will be booking the talent for Saturday night's concert and will also oversee entertainment for the entire event, slated to take place this year from Thursday, July 28 to Sunday, July 31 at the National Western Complex, a venue more commonly associated with hosting the annual National Western Stock Show.

"Ordinarily, since my retirement," Fey says in a statement released by Fair organizers this afternoon, "I turn all such offers down. And I initially started to turn this down. But after I realized the significance of a Denver County Fair, I started getting excited about it. I think it has a kind of a magic to it. So I agreed to work on it."

Nice, Barry will bring a rock show to town, as opposed to some other crap show that Live Nation would consider
