Nathaniel Rateliff release party set for Wednesday at Larimer after Mumford & Sons

​Remember a few weeks ago when we mentioned that Nathaniel Rateliff was getting ready to release a 10-inch live album culled from performances captured during Daytrotter's Barnstormer Tour and a gig at Notting Hill Arts Club in London this past February? Well, we've just learned that Rateliff will be issuing said platter at the Larimer Lounge this Wednesday after his set at the Fillmore opening for Mumford & Sons.

While there's certainly no guarantees, by any means, if we were the betting type, we'd wager that the Mumford boys will find their way to the Larimer for Rateliff's DJ set -- oh, did we not mention that Nathaniel's also going to be deejaying. (Our bad. Sorry. Nathaniel's going to be deejaying at the party, too.)

Anyhow, being that Nathaniel and Marcus Mumford are drinking buddies and whatnot, and seeing as how everybody happens to be in town that night, what with the show and all, and how Communion Records -- the imprint co-releasing the vinyl with Daytrotter -- is Ben Lovett's label, we'd say it's a pretty safe bet that the Mumford boys will be in the house. That and the guys do have a knack for just dropping in (see Adam Lancaster's poker party last year at the hi-dive). Either way, you'll definitely want to be at the Larimer on Wednesday.

Regarding the new album, here's what Sean Moller of Daytrotter has to say:

"In all seriousness, of all the people we've had through our doors at Daytrotter over the last four years, we've not taken a shining to anyone the way we have with Nathaniel. We're in the belief, instinct and pure love business over here and we believe that Nathaniel should be seen for what he is: one of the most gifted songwriters and performers currently making art. This feeling led us to take him out into some barns, where he gave us chills and sips of his whiskey every night. We wanted some of these shows to have a physical release and working with all the great lads and one lass at Communion, we were able to make this happen. Hopefully there will be more of his barn material available soon. This is mighty exciting!"
