Thursday is the New Friday: J. Rocc, Richie Hawtin, Musiq Soulchild and more
To commemorate surviving yet another week on the grind, we've brought you the list of the lists for how to spend your Thursday night. Thursday, you ask? Who goes out on Thursdays? Everyone. Thursday is the new Friday, and here's what's shaking. As always, if you've got something that we missed, feel free to add it below.
Be sure to get your folk on at Cervantes in the Otherside tonight with the Johnson Family Band, the Shwillbillies and The Lonely Wild. If you are thinking of doing a little bit of the ol' knee slappin, get down there around 9 p.m. and make sure you got a ten spot to get through the door. City Hall, meanwhile, has Musiq Soulchild, who will get things sultry and smooth come sundown when the doors open.
BallyHoo! will be mixing things up at the Bluebird Theater with a little bit of punk, a dash of reggae, some pop spices and a hint of rock. Doors open at 7p.m. and you can bring your 16 year old sibling if you want to fork out the $15 for the ticket for them. Apex Vibe, No Bueno! and The Bastard Suns will be kicking things off for the night.
Richie Hawtin is laying it down on the tables at Beta Nightclub tonight. Beta's door opens at 9p.m. and you'll need $20 to get in, unless you know someone who knows somebody whose brother can get his boy to put you on the list.
DJ Bedz is making bodies move at Lavish Lounge tonight. As an added bonus, Lavish is also having body painting auditions tonight, which sounds a lot like porn auditions that you don't get paid for. Finally, to celebrate its one year anniversary, Beauty Bar Denver has invited J. Rocc to come out and grace the turntables in the dance hall. mLe was there a few weeks ago absolutely slaying the sound system, so J. Rocc should be a nice way to ring in the anniversary.
