Mile Highlights: This week's concert news, local radio playlists and top album sales
Here's what's good in the Mile High City this week: In September, Beirut hits the Fillmore and Lindsay Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac is slated for a date at DU's Gates Concert Hall, followed by Chromeo, who's due back in Denver in October for a return date at the Ogden after a stellar set at the Westword Music Showcase last month. On local radio, The Pirate Signal, Bonnie and the Clydes, Conjugal Visits and Potcheen got some spins. Meanwhile, at our local record stores, Gillian Welch's latest claimed the top spots at Twist & Shout and Albums on the Hill, while Tech N9NE continued to dominate at Independent Records. This Just In: New Concerts and On-sale Dates
Beirut, fronted by Zach Condon, will be at the Fillmore on Wednesday, September 28 as part of the group's first national tour in four years in support of The Rip Tide, the band's third full-length, slated for an August 30 release on Pompeii Records. General admission tickets ($27.50 advance and $30 day of show) are on sale now.
Fleetwood Mac frontman Lindsay Buckingham visits DU's Gates Concert Hall on Wednesday, September 14, in support of his new solo album, Seeds We Sow, due in stores September 6. Tickets ($39.50-$95) go on sale Monday, July 11 at 10 a.m. at the Newman Center box office, online or by phone at 303-871-7720.
After a killer set at Westword's Music Showcase, Chromeo returns to the area for a gig at the Ogden Theatre on Friday, October 7, with Mayer Hawthorne & the County. Tickets ($35) go on sale Saturday 9 at 10 a.m.
