Tonight: Fleet Foxes at the Fillmore

FleetFoxes2.jpg
It is hard to believe Seattle's Fleet Foxes (playing the Fillmore Auditorium tonight with Alela Diane) was ever known as Pineapple. Luckily, another local band was using the same moniker, forcing the baroque-folk sextet to come up with something else, and thus Fleet Foxes was born.

We recently spoke with Fleet Foxes' singer, guitarist and principle songwriter Robin Pecknold about the formation of the band's new record and its pending relationship with label Sup Pop. On tour with Pacific Northwestern transplant and fellow stylistic throwback Adela Diane (whom we also chatted with briefly), Fleet Foxes will most certainly deliver a show filled with a grandiose intertwining of beautiful harmonies and plenty of stringed instruments. This concert is 16+, and tickets are $32-35. Doors open at 7 p.m., and performances begin at 8 p.m.
