Tonight: Ian Moore & the Lossy Coils at Benders
Based out of Austin, Ian Moore & the Lossy Coils (playing tonight at Bender's Tavern with National BLues Arsenal and Land Grabbers) bring the kind of epic-sounding rock and roll to the table that doesn't need much of an introduction. Led by Moore's soulful vocals, the three-piece makes straightforward power-pop compositions with an intelligent heart, an underlying twinge of blues and country running throughout both rhythm and lyrical style.
Ronald Dean
On his own, Moore has been a touring guitarist for Bob Dylan, Jason Mraz, The Rolling Stones and many more famous faces. He's also been putting out records since the early '90s both solo and with varying acts, but he and his Lossy Coil companions are on the road in support of the trio's last record, El Sonido Nuevo.
This show is 21 and up, and tickets are $12-16. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the bands start at 9 p.m.
