Phish Story: View the injunctions that keep Phish bootleggers at bay
Dave Anver, the pony-tailed man in this video from Phish's show at Dick's on Friday, September 2, is the subject of this week's Westword cover story, "Phish Story."
Anver says his job is "serving federal injunctions against people for selling counterfeit merchandise," but his methods came into question after the video surfaced, outraging music fans. Below are the federal injunctions that allow Anver and others to do that job, filed by Phish in New York and Virginia. While Phish can credit some of its early popularity to the trading of bootlegged live shows, its lawyer clamps down hard on the parking-lot flea markets of stickers, T-shirts and fan art.
