3 Kings Tavern gets its scary on with a pair of back-to-back spooktacular Halloween shows
If we know you (and let's face it -- we know you well, probably better than your mom), your plans for Halloween have already begun to take shape. Yes? Well, before you move that entry from pencil to ink on your calendar, there are a few more enticing options to consider at 3 Kings Tavern.
Bands in Disguise is just what it sounds like.
On Saturday, October 29, Lola Black is hosting its 4th Annual Masquerade Ball at 3 Kings with the appropriately named Cannibal Creeps and the Royal Dead. Need more incentive? Guess who else is on the bill?Give up? Seraphim Shock is back in town for what's sure to be a banger.
Then there's another show the very next night that sounds equally compelling. This one's a benefit for Girls Rock Denver -- which means you can feel good about being bad -- called Bands in Disguise. Like the longstanding Monsters of Mock of years past, this gig features various original bands paying tribute to past icons.
This year, Choke the Word is taking on the Cure, the Threatened suits up as Depeche Mode, and the Bloody Scallywags -- the name given to a veritable muderers' row of local players, including Jim McTurnan, Robert "Goose" Guzman, Madison Lucas, Ryan Chrys and Matt Fecher -- channels Echo and the Bunnymen, while DJ ZeroCruel throws down some vintage goth in between acts.
