Hear stories from Jim Norris of 3 Kings, the Gothic's Kent Shelton on the Narrators podcast

Catch the Narrators on the first Wednesday of every month at Paris on the Platte

​The last time we checked in with the Narrators storytelling series, it was making its debut as a place for people of all shapes and sizes to tell their stories. This month the series attracted quite a compelling bunch, including Gothic Theater GM Kent Shelton, Jim Norris of 3 Kings Tavern, former Twist and Shout buyer Dawn Greaney, Jody Pilmer of Everything Absent or Distorted, and it was guest-hosted by Pilmer's former bandmate, Robert Rutherford -- and you can hear it all on the show's new podcast.

The theme of the show was "something you lost," so each of the stories relate to that in some way shape or form. Jody Pilmer's story is a tour story from the band's trip to New York and includes a rather hilarious brush with a famous person and the loss of a man-purse. The stories here aren't exactly music related, but nearly all of them are related by someone from a music space.

Norris, for instance, reflects on taking a creative writing class, taking mushrooms in Greeley and talks about the L.A. riots, while Kent Shelton tells the story of a lost pet, which doesn't really have anything to do with the Gothic, obviously, but is a rather enjoyable and often hilarious tale regardless. If you've every found yourself wondering what the people who run your venues, play in bands or who order music think about and deal with throughout their days, you'll enjoy this episode and certainly more to come.
