Get a sneak peek of the new Photo Atlas album, due out early next year, with "Move It Darling"

The Photo Atlas has been hard at work on a new record. While there's been a few EPs released since then, this untitled effort is slated to be the band's first full-length since 2007's No, Not Me, Never on Stolen Transmission. The album isn't finished yet and won't be released until early next year, but the band has offered up a sneak peek with a new track, "Move It Darling."

The band is clearly excited to get its new sounds out into the world. "We're pretty close to having it done," says lead singer Alan Andrews of the new album, which is being recorded at Macy Studios. "We've finished a few songs, but still have four or five more to go." The act is also trying a little reinvention, experimenting more with keyboards and other electronics than it has in the past.

"We're still very much in the middle stage," Andrews adds, "but experimenting has been interesting, and we wanted to get a new song out as soon as we could." No label or name has been decided yet, but the outfit -- which is currently in the midst of a short Midwest tour on its way out to New York this week for its third appearance at CMJ -- is already shopping it around.

Great band! Good to see them getting a little more recognition.
