It's that time again: time to start making your festival plans for the coming year. Specifically, Burning Man, as tickets for the largest desert gathering since Moses led people to the Promised Land go on sale in about an hour (11 a.m. local time, to be exact).

The festival, which is held every year in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, sold out last year, so you may want to get a jump on them right now. Tickets range from $240 to $390 and can only be purchased two at a time. They will not be available at the gate, so you'll need to register sometime between today and Sunday, January 22, to have the opportunity to purchase them in advance.

You can register and find full details atBurning Man's official announcement page. Last year, there were only a total of about 50,000 tickets available, and there are no plans to expand that number this year. (Three thousand tickets were offered during a special pre-sale late last year, while 40,000 will become available during the current sale; the remaining 10,000 tix go on sale in March.)

I hear all the jokes made about Burning Man, but as I have never attended, if someone were to write a blog called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Burning Man," than I would read it.
