Don't miss Milk Bar's Speakeasy party tonight, hosted by Backbeat's own Ru Johnson
Happy Friday the 13th! If you're like us, you're ready to get into a little mischief in honor of this superstitious date. In addition to the brand-new speakeasy-style party at Milk Bar being hosted this week by yours truly, there's plenty of parties to entice you out of the house this weekend, including the Mile High Soul Club at Meadowlark, some unofficial STS9 after parties at Quixote's and a ton more. Page down to find one that suits your fancy, and then cross that thing like a black cat walking on a broken mirror under a ladder. Good luck with your throw down!

A "Very Superstitious" party is going down at Milk Bar tonight which is ushering in the first edition of its "speakeasy" style Friday night. In celebration of Friday the 13th, come get down to incredible beats, rare grooves, and participate in superstitious activity with Gyp da Hip on sounds. There's going to be tarot readings, free champagne for the ladies and plenty of shenanigans. $5 cover.

Fancy an after party? Quixotes True Blue welcomes members of the Disco Biscuits, String Cheese Incident and Particle to perform under the moniker "Game 7" for the unofficial Sound Tribe Sector 9 after parties, both tonight and tomorrow night. Tickets are $25 and the party will start at 8pm both nights.

Tonight, Meadowlark will house Soul Daddies Tyler Jacobson and Creeper Steve for the best in '60s and '70s Northern Soul, R&B, Motown and Funk. No cover for this party and you must be 21+up. Come down and cut a rug.

Face Melt Fridays at K's China in Boulder offers up some whomp while you chomp. Hosted by GODLAZER and with Denver locals Stalgia playing a late set, this should be just perfect for all the Avicii fanatics to pile in and continue the party. Entry is free and there are tons of drink specials.

Feel Good Fridays at Chances Grill will host the Winter Edition with dancehall remixes, reggae music and world sounds. You can check for Blood Preshah on sounds and tons of beautiful people for dance floor mayhem.

Saturday night is the grand opening of Limelight inside of Club Glo with a DJ performance from BET's DJ Q45, along with DJ Ktone and DJ Topshelf. No cover until 11, the strict dress code includes no sports attire and the comical "no tennis shoes for ladies" rule.

If you're into shaking it a little harder on Saturday night, International Vibrations/Icy Saturdays at Blue Ice might be your spot. Govahment Promotions has partnered with Tek-9 Movements and More Life Entertainment for this hip-hop, reggae, soca party. No cover for ladies until 11 p.m.
