Sub.Mission celebrates five-year anniversary
You know how that "dubstep" thing has been steadily gaining popularity for the past few years here in Denver? Well, not to blame anyone or point fingers, but Sub.mission Dubstep crew can pretty much take full responsibility for it, and with a fifth anniversary coming up in April, you can be sure that they're going to remind everyone why they paved the way for Denver dubsteppers.
In 2010, we named Sub.mission Best Promoter in our annual Best of Denver issue and they only gotten better since then. Never mind that when they initially brought Flux Pavilion and Doctor P to Denver, the event had to be relocated to accommodate the demand. You can look past the fact that there is a weekly Sub.mission show at Cervantes' (on Tuesdays). Chances are Sub.mission's name is stamped on the weekend bill, as well.
To celebrate the birthday, Sub.mission is bringing members of the Deep Medi Crew all the way from foggy London town. A stacked lineup with Mala (Digital Mystikz), Silkie, Quest, Vivek, Truth and Commodo will play the main stage at City Hall Events Venue on April 7.
There's also a hot ticket price of $15 available for the first 100 people; otherwise, you'll get the sleepers' price of $20 pre-sale and $25 day of show. There is also a $10 ticket available for the late-night set.
Along with VJs VooDoo and Infinite, Sub.mission promises there will be the largest Sub.Vision presentation yet. Sub.Vision is the recent addition to the Sub.mission family and focuses strictly on visuals. You don't want to miss this. Keep checking the Backbeat blog for more on the big show.
