Over the last year, three dueling-piano bars have closed, including Chez Cirque in Greenwood Village, Wild Ivories and, most recently, SingSing, which went dark at the end of last year. Howl at the Moon, which has more than a dozen locations across the country, will fill that dueling-piano void when it celebrates its grand opening on Friday, March 9, in the former SingSing space, at 1735 19th Street.

"I think Howl at the Moon has been successful to have opened over a dozen spots in our twenty years for the sheer fact that we never stop," says Michael Yates, Howl at the Moon's national marketing director. "We are always finding ways to spice up our show, and we listen to the customers on what they want. On top of that, we have entertainment, management and service staff throughout the company that put their heart and souls into their job, which has helped build an environment of over-the-top hospitality and one heck of a dueling-piano show."

Yates also says the company has always wanted to open in Denver, as it's a great metropolitan city with a nice core downtown entertainment area. "It's also a great destination city for visitors, which makes up a large portion of our traffic," Yates adds.

At Howl at the Moon, which bills itself as "The World's Greatest Rock n' Roll Dueling Piano Bar," the performers play anything from Billy Joel to Kiss to LMFAO. As the company's blog proclaims, "You name it, we'll play it."
