Weekend's best dance/party bets: Communikey, Unified Field, Brown Suga Youth Fest and more

Saturday at Crossroads Theater, DJ Cavem is continuing his mission to green the hip-hop community with the Brown Suga Youth Festival. A free event, hosted by Cee Know the Doodlebug of Digable Planets, Brown Suga will feature an eco hip-hop showcase and tons of free food for the community. All ages are welcome.
Tonight at the Meadowlark, DJ Low Key and Lazy Eyez are holding things down at the Solution Showcase #5 with Median (Justus League/NC Foreign Exchange Music/Jamla Records), Whygee and BK Beats (the Solution Beat Battle Winner from Albuquerque). Presale tickets are available at Family Affair for $5 (along with 15 percent off purchase at the store) or $8 at the door. 21+
The show goes on at Communikey Saturday all day; things start to heat up with Spectrums at the ATLAS Black Box Theatre, featuring Offthesky, Biosphere, Lustmord, MFO and Pole, followed later in the evening by RA Presents: A Tribute to American Techno at Apex Movement; Thomas Schreiber, Kyle Hall, Shawn Rudiman, Claude Young, Attentat, Roy England and Factories. And another party continues to heat up Cervantes' with Alex and Allyson Grey returning for another night of the Unified Field with Bluetech, Octopus Nebula, Sugarpill, the Malah, Human Agency, Tatanka, Samsonite and Dayquill. (all ages, 7:30 p.m., $20)

Sonya Police is celebrating the success of her brand, the Female Takeover, with a party at the Kasbah on Saturday night. No cover before 10 p.m., sounds by DJ Topshelf and everybody is encouraged to dress to impress. There will be special drinks on deck for the ladies. 21+up.
Over at Deerpile, above City O' City, there will be a screening of Prince's iconic film Purple Rain, with sounds by Backbeat's own DJ JoJo. The movie begins at 8 p.m. and there will be popcorn and drinks provided by Randa's Speakeasy. Everybody loves Prince.
Beta hosts Funkagenda on Saturday night with Dragon and Marshall Monica. If you're looking for bumping tunes over one of the best sound systems in the world, this is where to head. (18+, 10 p.m., $10)
Rockstar Lounge continues it's Saturday rein with the third anniversary of Colorazzi.com and resident sound master KDJ Above's birthday soiree for the "Black and White" party. No cover before 11 p.m. and ladies drink for $1 until 11:30. Don your best duds and get down with the get down.
The Dirty Funk Squad returns to Opal on Saturday night with the Treehouse Collective's Travis Press lining it up with Dylan, rocking deep house, dirty disco and funky, funky beats. (21+, 9 p.m., no cover)
House Guest Saturdays heats up the Funky Buddha on Saturday night with DJ Foxx and Steve Synfull rocking the rooftop of the Buddha. (9 p.m.)
