Weekend's best nightlife: Audio Injection, Calverton & TC, Monty Luke and more

Categories: Concerts

Ah, the weekend is finally here and the weather is perfect for getting out and getting down. While PrideFest is probably the biggest shindig in the city this weekend, there's a bunch of other parties and celebrations happening, including Juneteenth Music Festival in Five Points, and of course there's plenty of nightlife options, from reggae to hip-hop to a full dance card of electronic music. Page down for the full rundown of this weekend's best nightlife and party bets.

Catch Audio Injection at Would Shop II tonight

Tonight, Kevin Kain's birthday celebration will go down at Gold Standard at 24K. Be sure to dress to impress and plan to arrive early, as this is one of the hottest things in town tonight. (21+, 9 p.m.)

In the underground scene, the beloved Audio Injection will be back with his versatile fingers and eclectic selections to shake the Would Shop II to the floor; Scott Everett and Bob Taylor will open things up at the Would Shop II (RSVP to weirdnoisez@gmail.com for directions). (21+, 10 p.m., $10 before midnight or with Beta wristband, $15 after)

So if you head to Beta before that show to see bass-bringers Calvertron & TC with Ishe -- or techno impresarios Scott Paradis, DJ Foxx or Kevin Carlisle in the Beatport Lounge, hosted by P.U.N.C.H.I.S. -- make sure you hang onto that wristband. (18+, 9 p.m., $5-$15)

Get down to the aptly named Beat Electric tonight at the Meadowlark, featuring underground electro-disco-house by DJ Mike Moses, DJ Narn, Roy England and Ivy. (21+, 9 p.m., $5)

NORAD hosts a bash with Silo, Heath Spiegelberg, the Nazty Boys, Sang Dinh and DJ Lobot tonight, so get your dance on at the latest reincarnation of this classic venue. (21+, 9 p.m., free before 11 p.m.)

Over at Funky Buddha, Dubwise collective DJ Uplifter and the crew will be giving you what you need for Massive Reggae. This monthly party features the hottest sounds in reggae and island flavor. (21+, 9pm, No Cover)

Fridays are still irie at Kinga's Lounge for Richie Rich and So Soulful's latest dancehall get down. Reggae, dancehall and a mix of hip-hop keep the dance floors packed, as do the Red Stripe drink specials and more. (21+; 9 p.m., $5)
