A collaboration between Duane Taylor, Francois Baptiste and Alvin LaCabe of 3Deep and Kevin Kain Ent., Soiree is the brainchild of three of the city's top promoters and Bar Standard's latest Saturday night party. Judging from last week's packed patio opening, the results thus far are impressive. The launch of Soiree at Bar Standard strengthens a longstanding relationship between 3Deep Productions and SoCo; the former's long-standing Thursday night Reggae on the Roof party at Vinyl earned a nod in this year's Best Of Denver issue, and Soiree looks like it will become an equally hot party this summer as well.
"Our aspirations are to do numbers in excess of 800 quality individuals, which will facilitate the need to expand to the two rooms that are downstairs," says Taylor. "My primary demographic is pretty much 28-30 years old and up. We want to create an atmosphere that facilitates a safe and comfortable time for our clients."
Taylor says the three promoters have a mutual respect for each other, which has helped foster their growth. "We think like businessman," he points out. "We have conference calls so that we can come up with the best ideas, and our focus is always our customer first. The key to our success is that we are all on the same page. We always come to a mutual understanding and compromise that will benefit, first and foremost, our customer."
KDJ Above, DJ Topshelf and DJ D-Smooth are your resident deejays, and they'll be spinning everything from old school sounds to Top 40 rap and hip-hop. If you head down tomorrow night to check it out, you should note that Bar Standard enforces a strict dress code. So you should probably dress up if you plan on getting down.
