The ten best green rooms in Denver and Boulder

Categories: Best of Denver

1. Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom, 2637 Welton Street, Denver
This famed green room has seen the likes of the biggest names in hop-hop from Jedi Mind Tricks to Method Man and Redman, and even most recently Mos Def and Talib Kweli. While also playing host to rising acts in live music, the green room located at stage-left comes with a bathroom, a shower and, usually, a fully stocked refrigerator. Ask any local musician who has played at Cervantes' Ballroom and chances are they will have a crazy green room story for you.

My Voice Nation Help

The renovated green rooms at the Marquis deserve a mention, though the last time I was in there, we were literally the first bands to use them (fresh paint smell!).  The private bar at the Summit is pretty rad too -- I've never seen it elsewhere.  The Fox was certainly the most accommodating staff:

"Hey, what kind of beer do you want?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, do you like good beer or cheap beer?"

"Um, good beer?"

We later three 12 packs of New Belgium and Sierra Nevada products chilled in a cooler -- for a four-piece band.  Suffice to say, we snuck more than a few out to audience members.

The nicest green rooms I've ever been in were at the Belly Up in Aspen, though it's obviously exempt from this list.  60" flat screen, oxygen machine, stocked fridge, great couches, great WiFi, etc.  That place is truly special.

Maybe the green room at Summit is nice but that's the only thing nice about that place.  That place is a dump

They have obviously never been in the Summit Music Hall green room, private bar and fooze ball table.
