Boulder's five biggest hipster bars
1. Sundown Saloon, 1136 Pearl Street
The "Sundowner," or "Scumdowner," or "Slumdowner" has been the diviest home to locals and students alike for more than 25 years. Descend the stairs and anything can happen. You'll be hit by the sweet stench of stale beer and bodily fluids, and your clothes will smell like it for three days. Some people would turn around and flee at this point, but any real hipster will enter with joy and relish. With great nightly specials, including a $3 shot of whiskey and mug of PBR on Wednesdays, pool tables, and a classic jukebox, the hip reign supreme, especially when campus empties out in the summer and the true soul of the 'Downer is revealed.
