The Market Street Summerfest, a free concert featuring Tonic and Sister Hazel and a cast of locals, including Bop Skizzum, the Swayback, Take to the Oars and Strange Americans, is coming to 20th and Market on Saturday, August 11. "Market Street by 20th has needed a fun event to bring new people to the area," says organizer Frank Schultz, owner of the Tavern Hospitality Group, which knows a thing or two about music, having booked bands for years at the original location of the Soiled Dove (now Tavern Downtown). "We're really excited and think it will be a great opportunity to showcase the LoDo District."

"Larimer Square is host to numerous festivals, and they're always big hits," Schultz adds. "We felt the Market Street area was missing out by not having a music festival like this. I think by showcasing some great bands combined with food, drink and sunshine, we'll draw a really big crowd. And, because of the sponsorships that we were able to get, we don't have to charge people to attend."
