Some great news coming down this morning from the folks at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre: After being forced to close and subsequently cancel a number of shows due to the High Park fire that raged through Northern Colorado, the Poudre Canyon venue, which was miraculously spared, will reopen for lunch and dinner tomorrow at 10 a.m., and resume its summer concert season schedule next weekend with shows from Keller Williams on Friday, July 13 and JJ Grey & Mofro on Saturday, July 14.

The firefighters gathered Mishawaka to fight the fire.

"We are eager to start serving our friends and neighbors again and to help bring life back to the Poudre Canyon," says Mishawaka General Manager Dani Grant. "Our gratitude to firefighters is boundless. They made a mission of saving the Mishawaka. We are working tirelessly to reopen coincident with a holiday that honors American spirit and patriotism. Now, more than ever, we have a sense of the importance of the Mishawaka as a community resource."

Grant's gratitude is well founded, and when she says that the firefighters made a mission of saving the Mishawaka, she's not just speaking in general. When Grant and her colleagues returned to the Mish after more than two weeks from being evacuated, they found the note below waiting for them from David Vitwar and Jim Genung of the Colorado Springs Fire Department confirming as much.
