Unsurprisingly, Neil Diamond was in top form last night at 1STBANK Center as he rolled through a two-dozen song set with a fourteen-piece, orchestra-caliber band. But Diamond was not only dependably dazzling last night, he also proved that he's generous and compassionate by donating 100 percent of the gross proceeds from his merch sales last night to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund.

This flashed on the screen during the first part of the set.

You can bet that plenty of people went home with some memorabilia last night, and, if not, they left with plenty of memories. Diamond still puts on a hell of a show, one that features all of the hits, including two versions of "I'm a Believer," an upbeat take and a subdued ballad-worthy rendition that he dedicated to his newlywed bride Katie, whom he revealed, 'laid down the law,' thus rendering him a spectator rather than a lothario to the swooning throng of ladies. And, boy, were they swooning, particularly the pair of gals in the front row that he serenaded during "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon."

Backbeat photographer Eric Gruneisen brought back a bunch of photos. Page down to see a few highlights and then be sure to check out the full Neil Diamond at 1STBANK Center slide show.
